The Petal's Rose

Guide my passage clear and bright.
Down the road, alone yet free.
A glow that penetrates the night.
No limitations that I see.

Expectations here abound.
Living up to a world of hate.
Don't want ever to be found.
Please don't let this be my fate.

I want to live, to breathe, to hear.
Locked up in chains, let me go.
Don't need to lie, to hide, to fear.
Don't make me guess; I want to know.

Give a sign of comfort lost.
Hope be found in love's pure grace.
My soul will pay its cost.
What's beyond an empty face?

A tear falls from the petal's rose.
Laughter sings its glorious song.
Matters not what I am told.
Heaven be found all along.
